Sarokzy’s wife, Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, lost a brother to AIDS and last year became an ambassador for the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB and Malaria. As part of the “Light for Rights” campaign for antiretroviral access, the lights of the Eiffel Tower will be switched off for five minutes at 1730 GMT - the same moment at which New York’s Empire State Building and Brooklyn Bridge will also go dark.
