According to Yahoo, a woman was recently charged an extra $5 at a

Dare to Try?
Because I had hormonal imbalance in 2002, I ballooned to 136 lbs.
That’s considered overweight for a
5’1†woman.
That’s also the same weight I had when I was
about to deliver my son. But even if I gained a lot of weight back
then, I never tried diet pills because I was afraid of their
adverse effects. If you’re the adventurous
type, however, there’s a diet pill for women
that promises effective weight loss, skin improvement, breast
enhancement, and sexual stimulation. Before trying out CurvaTrim,
however, I suggest you find out first what others who have used

Can a Nail Salon Charge a Fee for Fat?

A local news report out of DeKalb County, Georgia kind of made our
jaws drop. A customer at a nail salon was surprised to learn when
she settled her bill that she'd been charged an extra $5 for her
manicure-pedicure—because she's overweight. The manager of

regularly adds a $5 fee for overweight patrons, so that she can
supplement future costly repairs to the salon's $2,500 pedicure
chairs, which she says have a weight limit of 200 pounds. Now, if
that weight is part of the chair...
Are All Women Freaked Out About Fat?

In a new study from Brigham Young University reported on Science
Daily, women with no signs of eating disorders were shown photos of
overweight women and then had MRIs. In the scans of the
normal-weight women, their brains lit up in the area that processes
identity and self-reflection—which researchers say indicates
they were worrying about becoming overweight themselves. (It may
not come as a huge surprise that in a similar test on men, the guys
didn't show any signs of worry or self-reflection.) Basically, this
is noteworthy because in previous studies, rese...
Does The Surgeon General's Weight Matter?

The swearing-in of the new Surgeon General, Regina Benjamin, is
bringing back criticisms of her that have been swirling since she
was appointed this summer. What's the problem? For most, not her
credentials—she set up a medical clinic in Alabama for the
poor after Hurricane Katrina, is on the Board of Physicians for
Human Rights, and received a "genius award" from the MacArthur
Foundation. The problem is her weight. Critics say that she's heavy
and therefore setting a bad example for a country with an obesity
problem. She addressed the issue on Good Morning Americ...
