NEW YORK: Campaign to Get Staten Islanders Tested for HIV
To advance its goal of reaching the 56 percent of residents who have never been tested for HIV, the Staten Island Ryan White HIV CARE Network is distributing acircStatus Checkacirc postcards with information on free testing locations. acircStaten Island may have the lowest HIV rates, but is has the highest HIV-related mortality rates,acirc said Karina Ryan, CARE Network coordinator. acircThe message of HIV testing and prevention is a message that must be spread to all Staten Islanders.acirc The cards, in English and Spanish, include the statement: acircMan, Woman, Gay, Straight, Young, Old.
